Tonight we will see the Scrubs finale. What is it mean? Is scrubs over? The last season of Scrubs may this season, Scrubs Season 9.
"Endings are never easy," doctor John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff) muses late in tonight's one-hour "Scrubs" finale. "I always build them up so much in my head, they can't possibly live up to my expectations, and I just end up disappointed."
Written and directed by "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence, "My Finale" takes place during J.D.'s final shift at Sacred Heart, before moving to a new job at a hospital closer to where his baby son lives. We see flashbacks to J.D.'s very first shift to see how much he's grown, and he gets closure of one kind or another with all the people in the hospital: girlfriend Elliot (Sarah Chalke), reluctant mentor Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley), bromantic partner Turk (Donald Faison), wise nurse Carla (Judy Reyes), retired chief of medicine Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins), even nemesis The Janitor (Neil Flynn), whose real name becomes a topic of discussion one last time.
It may not live up to J.D.'s expectations that his last day would be "like one of those great old sitcom finales," but it's a very sweet, often funny, entirely fitting farewell to this great, underrated comedy.
