Los Angeles Earthquake : No Major Damage






An Earthquake struck the Santa Monica Mountains, west of Los Angeles on Friday. No major damage caused by Los Angeles earthquake today.

According to U.S.G.S, a quake with magnitude-4.4 hit 6:11 p.m, about seven miles northwest of Malibu.

The quake jiggled the greater Los Angeles region during afternoon rush hour and was felt as far north as Lancaster in the Mojave Desert to southern Orange County, according to online resident reports gathered by the USGS.

A withness who lives a few miles from earthquake's epicenter in Westlake Village, Kerstin Edwards said that she felt the temblor while she was upstairs in her house. She noticed no damage.

"It started off as a strong jolt," Edwards said. "It's definitely one of the bigger ones I've felt."

A watch commander at the Los Angeles County sheriff's station near Malibu said there were no reports of damage or injuries.
